Don’t forget, before you start using your BeBook, install the battery and load the battery for at least 24 hours (not required for BeBook Mini).
Downloading and buying books
If you are buying books, make sure you buy them in Epub format! they will be displayed in the best way, and you can be assured that you can read the books on other devices in the future! The program to install to load ebooks is Adobe Digital editions, it's like what itunes does for your ipod!
You will need to create a Digital Editions login, please note that the books you buy will be registered to this login. Your BeBook can be authorized for usage under this account. Just connect your BeBook to your PC when the Adobe Digital Editions has been installed and started. Please wait up to 15 minutes for this authorization process, Digital Editions might look to be "not responding" but this is normal for the first use. Once the BeBook is authorized it is time to load some books on the PC. Please go to our Ebook section for a list of shops, or maybe try this site: www.ebookbop.com.au. When you have bought and downloaded the Ebooks, they will open in Digital Editions, from the bookshelf you can drag them to the little icon on the left showing "bebook".

The BeBook supports Mobipocket formatted books, but only in the non DRM version, so please be carefull when buying books and when you can, don't buy any books in Mobipocket format!
RSS feeds! Read them everywhere.
Reading news on your BeBook
Besides reading ebooks on your BeBook, you can now use your computer to connect to the internet and transfer the latest news articles to your BeBook!
Find out below how to get RSS feeds. This piece of information is written to help you getting started with RSS feeds. As you have to instal software on your computer, we do not guarantee the installation. But if you need any help you can always contact us via Support.
The preferred software is currently the Calibre software which can be downloaded at: http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/download
Once the software is downloaded and installed, connect the BeBook and it should be automatically recognized in the Calibre software. The software will take 5 till 15 minutes to get an overview on the books on the BeBook.
The calibre software can download RSS feeds (al the major newspapers) at any time. The choice of papers can be selected from the pre-installed menu “fetch news” and convert the articles in EPUB format, the best format to read documents on your BeBook. Once the BeBook is connected, the papers will be downloaded to the BeBook once a day. Otherwise use the button “send to device” for forcing a download to the BeBook.
In order to read the papers in EPUB format created by Calibre, you will need the latest firmware which is automatically installed on every BeBook which is shipped after September 2009.
